monday.

turkey day. that was monday. my mom, dad, bro and i headed up to scarlem, ahem, oh sorry, scarborough to my aunt's place for our family thanksgiving lunch. we got there about 3ish and there enjoyed a scrumptious array of foods: pasta salad, rice, boiled potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, broccoli salad, turkey, stuffing, ham, pumpkin and apple pie. (i'm sure i'm even forgetting a few things!) it was great to spend time with family - catching up, witty banter, an abundance of laughter...it was a time to cherish, especially since this was my dad's first thanksgiving weekend in seven years! seven years! imagine that...!! that definitely made it just *that* much more special. i thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this past weekend.

i enjoyed it right up until the end - until i had to catch the 6:15 via train from oakville to kingston. well, i enjoyed the train too, but it was 45 minutes late! i'm thinkin that could've been an extra few minutes in my bed rather than in the station! but alas, these things we can never predict. i arrived in kingston about an hour and a half later than our scheduled time, due to prolonged stops at union, and some other stations. as we were pulling into the kingston station i saw about 25 taxis lined up, so i figured, yeah that'll be enough for all the ppl that are getting off here. i was wrong. there were about 150 ppl who got off in kingston and by the time i got out to the taxi are, all the taxis were gone. i waited a further half an hour to get a cab, than booted it home. i made it through my apartment door at about 5 minutes past 11. class was at 11:30. i unloaded my bag and books, tossed food in the fridge, refilled my clipboard with blank paper and headed out the door faster than you can say 'urban politics'. i did indeed make it to my class - on time too. now, at this moment in time, i am trying to relax after that hectic morning, thinking of having another shower to wake me up, perhaps eat some lunch, and then get crackin on some books.

i'll see y'all on the other side.
